More than 350 people joined us at our first national conference, Beyond Hunger: Real People, Real Solutions. The conference generated a lot of dialogue among a diverse group of researchers, members of the media, government agency staff, advocates and people with first-hand experience of hunger and poverty. On day three of the conference, the attendees voted on a nine-part Call to Action to mobilize and advocate locally and nationally to bring about an end to hunger in the United States.
