Jean C.
Jean C. is a single mother from Scranton, PA. She has two boys, and relies on welfare assistance to provide a life for her family. Jean undergoes surgeries to repair damage from an injury in her youth, and cannot currently hold a job due to her health. She sees a great deal of poverty and hunger in her Scranton community. Jean is most concerned about food stamp cuts and the health and development of her two growing boys. She often sacrifices her own appetite and health for that of her children. Jean believes that Witnesses to Hunger is a great opportunity to show the personal concerns of mothers across the country, and she is excited about bringing Witnesses from all over together at the conference.
