On October 26th the EAT Cafe, Philadelphia's first pay-what-you-can restaurant, opened it's doors to the public. The Cafe will be open on Wednesday - Saturday from 4:30 - 8:00. With a suggested price of $15 for a three course meal, guests will be able to pay the suggested price, more, less, or nothing at all.
Thanks to great partners like Vetri Community Partnership, Giant Food Stores, Metropolitan Bakery, and many others, the EAT Cafe will have delicious food for everyone who comes to dine there no matter their ability to pay for it. The menu at the Cafe will change weekly with a variety of cuisines featured.
The EAT Cafe hopes that people who can pay it forward by paying more for a meal or donating online will do so. To be successful the Cafe and community will need to come together.
