Kimberly H.

Active 2014-Present
Kimberly H. is a member of Witnesses to Hunger from New Haven, CT and an advocate for social and economic injustices. She is a member of Mothers for Justice, the New Haven Food Policy Council, and the Food Assistance Working Group. Through Witnesses to Hunger, she documents her "struggle" in securing food for her 13-year-old son and herself. She is participating in Witnesses to Hunger because, as she says: “quite simply, I want to be the change I want to see in my community.”
Kimberly is a SNAP recipient whose benefits were drastically cut by the federal government in November of 2013. In her opinion, that cut was and is totally unacceptable. She thinks that leaders in Washington need to hear how these cuts affect her and her community.
