Quanda B. is a member of Witnesses to Hunger from Boston, MA, and a mother of two. Quanda spent several years struggling to find work and relying on a TANF/TAFDC benefit to support her family. She is passionate about early childhood education, and works part-time to improve educational options for low-income children at two organizations in Boston: Children’s Thrive and United South End Settlements. She has been working hard to further her education, and will finish earning her teacher certification in June 2014. Quanda wants to improve the TANF/TAFDC program, including getting rid of the family cap policy.
